As you might know about me, when I’m not writing posts for Gimb.al or working as a musician, I’m also the pilot for Cloudgate which was recently paid a visit by The Logan School for Creative Learning in Denver.  Our friends at Aerial Imaging had been collaborating with filmmaker Cynthia Gray of Petite Productions on a documentary of the school which in turn piqued the interest in a few of the students who were already studying robotics, UAVs and photography/videography.

The Logan School “provides a complete learning experience for students who are exceptionally inquisitive and hungry for knowledge through a hands-on, personalized, and experiential program both inside and outside the classroom.”  As such, Joel Michor, Educator & Field Trips Coordinator asked Aerial Imaging if they’d be up for presenting a workshop on UAV’s as they relate to aerial cinematography.  Due to scheduling constraints, Aerial Imaging asked us if we could assist.  We happily obliged.

Below are some photos from the session.  We were completely amazed at the students interest and intelligent questioning.  Phil Van Drunen ( Gimb.al contributor & Cinematographer for Cloudgate ) and I afterwards wished that we could step back in time and enroll in the Logan School!
